Keter

Color of Keter

What is Sefirah of Keter?

Care to learn about the Colors of the Sefirot?

Let's learn about the highest Sefirah...Keter

Definition: Keter means Crown, the highest part, yet not part of the body. It is a perfect analogy for a place beyond understanding, something removed, like a crown from the actual head of a person. Keter is seen as the source of divine desire to create, which aligns beautifully with the concept of artistic inspiration. Just as Keter represents a realm beyond our immediate understanding, an artist's inspiration often comes from a place that feels otherworldly and transcendent. The creative process begins with this intangible, almost mystical desire to bring something new into the world. It is a place where all things emanate, a place of divine will and desire, referred to as the Ratzon HaAlyon.

Application: The artist by nature has a desire to create. Before any materials are bought and paint applied there needs to be a will. The will to create. The greatest tool of the artist. Without this desire, the artist cannot create.

Moving Forward: Keter much like the initial spark of creativity that cannot be physically seen or touched. It is the very essence of the artist's creative impulse. As the artist moves from Keter to Chochmah, they transition from pure desire to the formulation of ideas, giving structure and direction to their initial inspiration.

Keter. The different possible colors

No color at all: Meaning the idea that the many layers of life cover over the original idea so that it no longer has existence. An example can be the mixing of red and blue to form purple. The current color is purple and the two previous colors do not exist anymore, however at one point it had its existence but it now no longer can be seen as a color since it's mixture is all that exists

White: the idea of purity. The no color at all is not contradicted here since the example of dew turning into a frozen covering is a good example of something that essentially has no color (dew in the environment) which than later turn into a snow colored frost on the ground.

Black: something that is there but ia hidden. An object in the dark exists, but may not be available or visible.

The word Shachrit is a goof example of something that can mean dark or light which would not be a contradiction. Since the bright light can cause a blinding vision making it incapable of sight. Or the the darkness is just covering an object that exists. Like the covering of gold in the earth. The gold never changed, however it remains a mystery.
